"You guys are indefatigable!" - Robby Steinhardt on the PotSW

What's New?

02/20/2002 - Web site updates

I'm about to change over to the new version of this site. Last chance to give me feedback before the change (of course, you can continue to leave it for me AFTER the change).

I'm still interested in whether there's any desire for the web-based forum (which is also "live").

02/11/2002 - Kansas DVD Filming in Atlanta

As has been recently (and correctly) pointed out to me, I've not been keeping things up to date here at all. So how's this for something new? As reported on the kansasband.com site, Kansas will be filming for their upcoming DVD in Atlanta this summer, on June 15th. More details are forthcoming, but there will be an opportunity for some dedicated fans to be in the video, and present at rehearsal on June 14. Stay tuned!

08/11/2001 - Mailing list is back up

Well, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to all new (NEW!) hardware for my main email and web server, finally evicting the last of my ancient hardware from the Elder Days.

Of course, as usual, something didn't quite get done, so the PotSW mailing list was down for a couple of days and then over the weekend. As of now, it appears to be back properly up. In order to minimize panic and pain, I all but 2 posts to the list during the interim, and have posted them now that the list is back up.

As these things go, this has been less traumatic than some other upgrades that I've done (for one, it wasn't forced by an unexpected hardware failure). However, as always, if you see something amiss, please email me at rew@potsw.org and let me know about it.

07/12/2001 - PotSWer Posts Pix from the Akron Show

So I like consonance. :) Anyway, here are some pix posted by "Bud" Wykoff.

04/26/2001 - The T-Shirt Project is back

After a 7-year hiatus, the PotSW T-Shirt project is back on. Other details were posted to the PotSW list tonight, but essentially, I'm looking for at least a new back-of-shirt design from the original winning design, and discussion on whether there are new contenders to the crown. (Oh, and I'm giving away a free T-Shirt and CD of your choice to the winning designer, so there).

04/26/2001 - Numavox hosting live Kerry chat

From Bill Evans, new web guy at Numavox:

Numavox will be hosting a live, internet chat with Kerry Livgren on Thursday, May 3rd at 8:00 Central (Kansas) Time. This is a great forum to speak with Kerry on a wide variety of issues including Kerry's Solo career, Numavox records, and his recent work with Kansas. The chat will be accessible via IRC and web browser (via JAVA).

04/15/2001 - New pictures

Billy Greer recently sent some pictures taken by a German fan at a show in Heilbronn, Germany. I put them in the gallery for your enjoyment. I think that this photo probably was taken immediately after a festive and leaping Robby inadvertantly poked Billy in the eye with his bow and continued 'cross stage and out of frame, but I'm not certain. :)

03/31/2001 - New Billy Greer site

Congrats to Billy for his new website, BillyGreer.com, and kudos to Missy for a job well done. Sound bites from Billy's new album, plus lots more information.

03/08/2001 - Remastered Masque and Leftoverture Issue Date!

From the PotSW list, comes this news:

Sony Legacy has posted a 5/22/01 release date for the re-mastered Masque and Leftoverture albums. It's about time!

03/08/2001 - Walsh & Livgren - "Off the Record"

From the PotSW list, comes this news:

Uncle Joe, ARROW 93's Morning Man in Los Angeles, has a hour long nationally syndicated program called "Off the Record". This Sunday (March 11, 2001) Joe will be featuring the music of Kansas. The show will include more of Joe's in-depth conversation with Steve Walsh and Kerry Livgren.

The link above includes a list of stations and times that carry the show.

03/08/2001 - Kerry Livgren Interview

OK, the consensus is that I should post old news items of interest just for those who may have missed them. So with that in mind, Charisma Magazine did this interview with Kerry Livgren last fall.
